BVEF runs on parent volunteer energy. There’s room for however much time you have.
We are looking for parents who believe in the importance of arts education at the elementary level. Our small, parent-volunteer board raises the money that funds art and music instructor salaries and keeps Yulupa and Strawberry Elementary art, music, dance, and theater programs going strong — making sure every child in the district receives arts education. It’s important work, and we need help.

BVEF meets the first Wednesday of each month, 6:30pm. Help a little or a lot. No drama. No cliques.
Open Board Positions 2026-27
We’re currently looking to fill four positions. If any of these sound like a fit — or if you’d rather start as a general member and find your footing first — get in touch.
- Vice President – Support the Co-Presidents, step in when they can’t, and help steer the board’s priorities across the year. A good role if you want a broad view of how BVEF works.
- Fundraising Chair – Lead BVEF’s fundraising strategy across the Family Contribution to the Arts campaign, VOTA, and community events. You’ll work with the board and committee volunteers rather than doing it alone.
- Events Coordinator – Organize BVEF events — VOTA, but also occasional community events such as Tile Night, movie nights, or the Parade o’ Pumpkins art walk. Hands-on, seasonal, and a good fit if your superpower is concrete planning.
- Dinner & Auction Co-Chairs (2 people) – Lead the VOTA planning. You’ll work with a committee to organize and run the event. Creative, high-impact, and busiest during January-April.
